How Many Hypnotherapy Sessions Are Required?

Many clients want to know how many sessions they'll need — and this really depends on you. Because hypnotherapy communicates directly with the subconscious mind, problems can often be resolved in a fairly short period of time. Therapy typically takes between 8 and 15 sessions (for both in-person and online consultations), depending on the issue being addressed.

Please note that in-person and online consultations are exactly the same in content and quality — the only difference is that online sessions are facilitated via Zoom.

What Does the Therapy Involve?

Session 1

I get a thorough overview of your history in our first session, so I can identify the connections between your past and your current problem. This is where I ask the kinds of questions nobody has ever asked you before — helping you tell your own unique story, and talk about things you may never have been able to talk about previously.

Session 2

In the second session, I help you understand how your subconscious mind functions. Without this understanding, your "problem" can't truly be solved. I also teach you self-hypnosis in this session and record it as an audio file, which I send to you afterwards so you can practise in your own time.

Session 3

In the third session, we do a word-analysis exercise together while you're in a self-hypnosis or focused state. This gives me enough information to make a diagnosis, which we'll discuss in our next session so we understand where the problem is coming from.

Session 4

We begin the fourth session by discussing your diagnosis together, then move on to determining a therapy plan going forward.

Session 5 and Onward

From here, I help you explore your subconscious to identify the initial sensitising event (the seed), the symptom-producing events (the watering), and the symptom-intensifying events (the weed). We find these events and the links between them, remove the unhelpful suggestions they've created, and do healing work to address the traumas stored in your subconscious.
